Our Easter Bingo and Raffle this year raised £315.00 for School Fund. Well done to all the pupils who took part in the Merseyside Power Hockey Tournament, with the 3-2 victory over Woodchurch being the highlight of an exciting competition. Click to watch highlights. Once again Sandfield pupils, staff, parents and friends have surpassed themselves with the brilliant total raised so far; to date we have raised a massive: £1,219!! (and we still have a few more donations to come in). This is brilliant for a small school and the enthusiasm and fun we had on the day was captivating and certainly embodied the phrase: "Have fun while you fundraise!" My thanks go to all the pupils, staff and parents who took part in the mile and your effort in collecting in the sponsor money is much appreciated. Thanks also to all staff who willingly agreed to get a real soaking with the sponges and buckets, and those pupils and staff who were in "pain" after wearing the shirt of hurt for the day!! Also not forgetting Mrs. Evans and Miss McAndrew who saved penalties in their Man. Utd. shirts. Thanks again to everyone who took part and for your generous donations. 6T have taken on a new venture as part of their Asdan course work and Life Skills. They have introduced a baked potato café in the classroom once a month to offer to staff on a Monday lunchtime. They have learnt to take the orders, shop for the potatoes and the fillings, wash and prepare the potatoes for cooking and then serve them and collect in the money. So far, so good and we have had lots of happy customers! City Centre cafes watch out, 6T are on the ascendency!! 6T and Louis from S3 have all been" bouncing away” on Friday afternoons at Greenbank Sports Centre, they have the opportunity to take part in 8 weeks of Rebound Therapy with Sports Coach Jodie at Greenbank. All pupils are doing really well and they benefit greatly from these sessions and they all really enjoy the activity. The 2 stars of the sessions are Tom and Louis, both able to show some very good trampolining skills.

The competition includes the following sports: boccia, table tennis, table cricket, football and indoor athletics. It is always highly competitive event and a great spectator sport. We came SECOND out of 5 boroughs and we were only 6 points behind the winners, St. Helen's. All our pupils gave their 100% commitment and did the school and Liverpool proud! Well done to Ben, Zac, Dylan, Stephen, Dominic, Aran, Charlotte, Daniel, Sophie, Liam, Callie, Kelsey. Genna and Emma. |
