KS3 Class at The Bridge

KS3 Timetable 2025/26

In Forest School this week we used flint and steel to make a spark that we would be able to use to light our fire. Once the fire was lit we used it to make Hot Drinks, Eggy Bread and S’mores. The S’mores got a 10 out of 10!

This half term is 5 weeks long.

This half term our theme will be Outer Space.

Our English topic is “Relationship Poetry”. We will be looking at the following poems

The Highwayman – Alfred Noye

An Unknown Girl – Moniza Alvi

I love my Mudder – Benjamin Zephaniah

Unrelated Incidents – Tom Leonard

In Maths we will be developing our knowledge and understanding on decimals, fractions and percentages.

Enrichment will be forest school for this half term – please remember to bring a waterproof and try and wear layers as who knows what weather we will have!

During this half term we will be learning about Rainforests. We will identify where in the world Rainforest’s are and find out about the different habitats. We will find out more about the different layers of a rainforest. We will later move onto looking at ways that the Rainforests can be protected.

In Maths we are starting the year by learning about co ordinate’s in 4 quadrants.

In English our novel is “Trash” by Andy Mulligan.

We will continue our weekly enrichment sessions. This half term we will do a mixture of some trips out to museums in Liverpool and we will also be doing some cookery sessions at Sandfield Park.

During Autumn 2 half term we will be working on the theme “The World at War”. We will begin by learning about remembrance and creating a display in the classroom as part of this.

In English we will be studying 19th Century Literature and our main text will be Oliver Twist. We will explore the historical context of the novel as well as analysing the characters and setting.
