Alder Hey Arts & Enrichment
The Trust Arts for Health programme has previously offered a wide range of interactive arts’ activities, delivered by professional artists, to engage patients and support their wellbeing and recovery. Organisations involved include Shakespeare North, The Philharmonic Orchestra and Read for Good. Activities include dance, music, drama, digital animation, art and storytelling. Teachers collaborate with the visiting artists to arrange and support the activities and projects for pupils in the ward and classrooms.
Previous projects included:
- SLICE Project
- Comic Youth Workshops
- Medical Mavericks film project with Twin Vision – patients across the wards took part
- Dada Fest project – this provided patients with the opportunity to participate in one-to-one arts and music activities for 20 hours. This involved projects with artists and musicians across a range of genre.
- Pencil Pals have worked with pupils on Dialysis
- Shakespeare North – rappers, DJs, beatboxers and graffiti artists.
