Welcome to SF1!

As a class group we are mostly working towards Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Qualifications in English and Maths as well as a range of AQA Entry Level and Level 1 units in subjects such as Science and Humanities. Our class are also currently working towards an ASDAN Qualification in Personal and Social Development. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze and Silver Award, with the hope of progressing to the Gold Award in the future. The Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions progress each year. DofE enables pupils to build upon their skills and knowledge in a variety of areas such as volunteering, skills, physical skills and expedition skills. This academic year, some of our class are also continuing to access the NHS Cadets programme to our young people, which is such a fantastic opportunity to develop skills linked to employment.

As part of our curriculum, pupils have the opportunity to develop their employability skills and gain experience in the world of work through a supported internship programme and through volunteering at our Sandy Park Cafe, located a short walk from school.

Our class staff team includes Mr Wood (Class Teacher), Mr Lamb and Mr Velthius (LSA’s)
